Private
investors are individuals who want to buy into an existing business. They may
be serial investors who own many different businesses, or they may be looking
for a business which they can run personally.
Private
investors will be looking principally for business opportunities with a good
chance of return on investment. But they may also be looking for a personal
career opportunity.
For instance,
an experienced nurse with organisational flair may consider running a private
nursing agency or a residential care home. For someone with specialist domain
knowledge, taking over an existing business can be a lot easier, and deliver
returns faster, than starting up from scratch.
